A FULL-TIME police officer has been assigned to a Hartlepool school as part of a pilot project.
PC Keith Morrison, a uniformed officer, is to be based at St Hild's School in King Oswy Drive.
The officer will work closely with teachers and talk to students about issues which concern them.
Officers have stressed that the school does not have a particular problem with bullying, but was forward thinking and wanted to work with the police.
Inspector Clive Pengilley, head of the community safety department at Hartlepool police, said: "We have seen a massive advantage at the school with the scheme."
