Ten-man Darlington held on to claim a well-earned point in a fiercely contested 1-1 draw at York City last night.
Midfielder Gary Pearson was shown his second red card of the season 15 minutes from time for a two-footed lunge on Darren Dunning.
Quakers survived a late barrage of pressure from the home side as Barry Conlon's first half strike against his former club proved enough for Mick Tait's men after Liam George's 16th minute opener.
Saturday's goal hero Neil Wainwright was rewarded for his second half brace against Doncaster with a place in the starting eleven, in Tait's only change with youngster Chris Hughes making way.
In Quakers' first real attack, Conlon almost caught keeper Mark Ovendale out with a speculative left-footed half volley, which only just cleared the angle of the goal.
Defender Steve Downes came to his sides rescue in the tenth minute when he cleared Matt Clarke's goal-bound header off the line from an Ashley Nicholls corner.
However despite a promising start for the visitors it was the Minstermen who took the lead in the 16th minute with Liam George sending a pinpoint header past Andy Collett from Darren Dunning's cross.
And as Quakers looked for a quick reply they almost got it when Clarke was denied by a superb point-blank save by Ovendale from Wainwright's teasing cross.
With chances continuing to open up at both ends David Merris was the next to try his luck with a well-aimed header which had Collett scrambling across his goal to eventually smother.
But it was Quakers who finished the first half with a flurry as first Conlon saw his header across goal cleared before Wainwright's low drive was hacked clear in desperation by the home defence.
And on the stroke of half-time Quakers were deservedly level through Conlon. After a strong run, Wainwright laid the ball out for Nicholls, who crossed for Conlon to make no mistake with a thunderous header past Ovendale.
With a quarter of an hour Quakers were reduced to ten-men when Gary Pearson was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Dunning.
But even with the extra man the Minstermen failed to make the advantage count despite a late surge from the home side.
