A TEENAGER charged with murdering another boy made his first court appearance yesterday.
The 15-year-old appeared at Gosforth Magistrates' Court, Newcastle, accused of killing Jonathan Thompson, 16.
He was remanded in custody for a week.
A second youth, aged 17, appeared in connection with the incident and was charged with possession of an offensive weapon and affray. He was bailed to return to the court on October 7.
Jonathan was found outside his back door in Gilly Street, Byker, at 9pm on Saturday.
He was taken to Newcastle General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
