TOWERING leeks and giant parsnips were some of the home-grown talent on show at the Gala Theatre.
Durham's Annual Horticultural and Craft Show took centre stage at the city's theatre last Friday and Saturday, when growers displayed their finest vegetables and flowers. There were also categories for floral art, home-made wines, embroidery and baking.
At the end of Durham City Council's show, on Saturday, the exhibits were auctioned and proceeds were given to the Mayor of Durham's Appeal Fund.
