A CAMPAIGN to clean-up Darlington has been given a boost by the appointment of two specialists.
The Street Care team, working with a specially equipped vehicle, is the latest weapon in the borough council's environmental drive. Funding for the team has come from the authority's Citizens' Priorities scheme - an £830,000 budget allocated for projects which residents feel are important.
The team will carry out minor repair work, clean road signs and remove graffiti. They will also assist the environmental response team in helping to clear away fly-tip refuse.
The first task of the team will be to install 40 litter bins around town centre.
