Spennymoor expect to complete the signing of Jason Ainsley before Saturday's home game with league leaders Alfreton.
Ainsley, skipper of the promotion winning team last season, left the club in the summer when Jamie Pollock resigned as manager, but he has now decided to return to his old club after a spell at Northern League Durham City, which ended acrimoniously last weekend.
Lee was full of praise of his team after they beat Frickley 3-2 in midweek. Moors are now sixth in the table, seven points behind top of the table Alfreton. Moors have another tough away game on Tuesday, at second placed Harrogate.
Bishop Auckland boss Brian Honour has made a top 13 place in the league a top priority.
Honour was deeply upset by the FA Cup defeat against Pickering last Saturday and now wants a big improvement for the league campaign ahead.
The Team of the Month award for August has certainly become a curse for Bishops, because since their excellent start to the season in August, they have failed to win any of their four September games.
Honour said: "We failed to take advantage of a good home draw. Not only have we missed out on the prestige of a good cup run, we've also missed out financially.
"We needed the money to improve the playing budget, but that won't happen now.
"Now we must concentrate on doing well in the league. We must dust ourselves down and make sure we finish in the top 13 and a promotion spot.
"There are some tough games ahead. There will certainly be no meaningless midtable games this season."
Bishops are at Kidsgrove, who are near the bottom of the table, tomorrow.
Gateshead went top of the UniBond First Division after they won 2-0 at Workington on Tuesday night, but it won't be for long as they are to be deducted four points for playing two unregistered players against Leek and Chorley and have also been fined £250.
The decision comes into effect in a fortnight's time, to allow time for any Gateshead appeal.
