League champions Spennymoor A failed in their quest to win the double when they were beaten by Mainsforth in the final of the knockout.
Robert Hopkinson of Wolsingham beat David Strong (Shildon Railway) to take the singles title. The pairs went to Billy Bell and Paul Heath who beat Peter Wilkinson and Billy Condron in an all Spennymoor final. Bell and Heath teamed up with George Fawcett to beat Ken Chicken, Philip and David Gibson in the triples, another all Spennymoor final. Alan and Carol Airey confirmed the Spennymoor superiority by beating Bishop Auckland duo Ann and Brian Milner in the mixed final.
