Spennymoor Boxing Academy is gearing up for another action-packed season which will see the globetrotting club take in another trip abroad.
After accepting an invite the boxers will chalk up their latest journey across seas next month when they visit Stockholm to take part in the prestigious Sweden Box Cup.
The invitations go to the country's top clubs and coach Robbie Ellis was proud to accept the invitation, and he hopes the tournament will provide invaluable international experience for the club's young fighters.
Ellis said: "This tournament is one of the biggest and best box cups in the world. It has been going for years and it is great for us to have been invited.
London clubs like Repton and West Ham have had invites in the past, now it is us and I am over the moon."
The club have clocked up air miles after jaunts around the world with the most recent one being to Canada earlier this year.
The team heading for Scandinavia are all aged under 17 with one member having been in the ring on just three occasions so far. However, Ellis explained: "At Spennymoor, champions and novices train equally and the boy with three bouts will have just as big a thrill travelling abroad as some of our champions."
Along with a large group of supporters, the boxing squad fly to Swedan on October 2 and the club is confident of bringing some medals back to Britain.
Tickets are now available for the club's annual dinner which takes place at the town's leisure centre on Friday, November 14. Including a four-course dinner, pre-fight entertainment and 12 top class bouts of amateur boxing including local and national champions, tickets are available from Robbie Ellis on 07968 205043.
The boxing opposition will provide by a London Pride Select featuring boxers from West Ham, Newham and Finchley in a North v South battle.
Meanwhile, the National Association of Boys Clubs have chosen Spennymoor BA to be hosts for their annual championships at the town's Leisure Centre on Saturday, October 18.
