With the County Cup taking priority only one game took place in the first division with the improving Hurworth Albion taking on Spraire RA. After a goal-first half the home side overcame a below par Spraire side 5-1.
James Edwards helped himself to a hat-trick with Darren Tate and a long range Chris Bellwood effort completing the scoring for Hurworth, a brave Steve Shaw header was all the visitors had to show for their efforts.
Two first division sides faced each other in the County Cup over the weekend with Newton Aycliffe Sports Club progessing to the next round at the expense of Brinkburn Wanderers. The game finished 9-2 in favour of the home side, Richard Parsons and Steven Charlton on target for the visitors, but with an Andrew Turner goal and two each from Arron Robson and Stuart Owen and four goals from man of the match John Shotton saw the Sports Club to an emphatic victory.
