Due to County cup commitments the league programme was reduced to just two fixtures.
Near neighbours Darlington Travellers Rest and Darlington Archdeacon met at Hundens Lane in a closely contested game, although the Deacon came out 4-0 victors the wind did nobody any favours and Travellers have themselves to blame for not getting on the scoresheet due to poor finishing. Matt Jones gave the visitors a 1-0 interval lead with Ian Thompson from the penalty spot and a brace for Mike Thraves scoring in the second.
In the other fixture Lee O'Connell gave Stillington The Royal a two-goal half-time lead against one of the League's new sides Darlington Stadia. Kicking with the wind in their favour Royal added a further four to their tally and conceded one, O'Connell grabbed another two with Mark Warnes also grabbing a pair.
It was mixed fortunes in the Minor cup for the League's sides but at Tindale the League were bound to get one through as the WMC were taking on Darlington The Mowden. In a well contested game a goal either side of half-time by Ashley Ward and Paul Hobbs virtually sealed victory for the home side who added a third late on through Billy Latcham, between Roy Applegarth who was having a good game in the Mowden goal made a good save from a penalty kick. The youngsters of Darlington GSOB went out to the golden goal rule after finishing 3-3 at Crook White Swan.
Meanwhile Darlington Skerne Park were entertaining the other GSOB and once again fell away to go down 7-2. Darlington Dalesman did the same after holding Sunderland The Rovers Return at 3-3 to go out 8-3.
It was better news at Shildon where Elm Road WMC had a comfortable 6-1 win over Willington WMC with goals from Carl Dawson, Richard Nash and Thomas Louden who all found the net twice and also at Chilton where the Community College defeated Sunderland Cauld Lad 6-3, both David Tate and Andy Russell hit hat-tricks.
