COMMUNITY groups on Teesside are celebrating a National Lottery windfall from the latest round of Awards for All grants.
St Peter's Church of England Primary School, in Brotton, near Saltburn, received £5,000 to install a collapsible stage in its sports and drama hall for use by pupils, other schools and the community.
The Middlesborough and District Branch of the Cold Stream Guards Association, which organises activities and looks after the welfare of Coldstream guards and their families, received £3,205.
The group will use the funding to arrange a trip to Belgium to visit battle scenes, graves of comrades and take part in a memorial ceremony.
St Dominic's RC Primary School, in Redcar, received £3,420 to pay for coaching sessions for multigames activities throughout the year.
Teesville Infant School, in Eston, Middlesbrough, received £4,776 to develop a play area. It will add to a larger development of the school grounds including a woodland area and a design area.
Errington Primary School in Marske, near Redcar, received £5,000 which it will use to hold after school workshops run by qualified artists and make clay tiles to form a mosaic for its planned garden area.
