Black Swan v Lingdale Utd: Black Swan continued their run of defeats, this time at home to Lingdale Utd.

Naivity in defence again led to silly goals being conceded. Goals from Iseton, Woodall and two from Hololob gave Lingdale a four goal advantage which they held on to until half way through the second half. Black Swan pulled two goals back, through Butler and Bowmaker, after rare flickers of thoughtful football. To add to Swans bad day Smith was sent off after making some comments that the referee took exception to. Final score 2-4.

Lealholm v Boosbeck Utd

A draw proved to be a fair result in a match that was evenly played throughout. Lealholm took the lead in the 10th minute when a ball which seemed to be going out, was kept in by Holland and led to a cross by Butler to Crooks who finished with an easy close range volley. Lealholm then had a couple more chances when robinson first headed over the bar and then had the ball taken off his toes by the Boosbeck keeper. A 30th minute corner provided the equaliser after the ball was initially cleared off the post only to allow Winter to score from close range. Both teams created further chances but failed to capitalise and the score remained level at the break. Lealholm once again took the lead when Brown scored, 29 minutes into the second half, following a good passing move. With ten minutes remaining a push led to Boosbeck being awarded a penalty which was converted well by Brown to once again level the score. The last five minutes was full of action, first Lealholm were thwarted when Butlers shot was tipped over the bar and then Lealholm keeper, Thompson had to make a good double save to keep the score level.
