A SEARCH and rescue team is looking for young people to join its cadet group.
Teesdale and Weardale Search and Rescue Team is one of the few mountain rescue teams in the country which runs a cadet group.
Cadets, who must be aged between 16 and 18, take part in activities including walking and climbing one weekend a month. They also join the search and rescue team during exercises.
Equipment will be provided by the team following a grant from the National Lottery Awards for All scheme.
An open night will be held at the team's rescue centre, behind the police station in Barnard Castle, on Monday, October 6, from 7pm to 9pm.
For more details contact cadet training officer Chris Roberts on (01833) 690268.
