THIRSK market place could be turned into a winter wonderland for Christmas next year.
Plans have been unveiled to transform the area by creating a skating rink, snow slope, craft marquees and food halls.
It is estimated that the scheme to attract more people into the town in the festive period will cost around £25,000.
The town's Chamber of Trade is heading the project but organisers says that public support is their priority and town councillor Steve Hubbard said: "We would like to hear from volunteers outside the chamber."
Anyone interested in helping, should contact Mr Hubbard on (01845) 524627.
