COUNCIL chiefs launched a new campaign - to help to bring smiles to the faces youngsters in need of care.
Help Us Raise 100 Smiles is the name and aim of a drive by North Yorkshire County Council to recruit 100 new foster carers. The campaign will tell people about the benefits of fostering and the various types of fostering.
The county's executive member with responsibility for social services, Caroline Patmore, said: "People often think that some sort of specialist qualifications are needed but this isn't the case. Foster carers come from all walks of life."
Prospective foster carers should telephone 0800 389 2362 for more information.
