FOURTEEN exchange students from Bremen, in Germany, met Darlington Mayor Councillor Ron Lewis yesterday.
The students, aged 15 and 16, are visiting the town for two weeks of work placements at places including Radio Cleveland, Woodburn Nurseries, the Dolphin Centre, Reg Vardy and a vets practice.
The students toured the Mayor's Parlour at Darlington Town Hal and the council chamber with Coun Lewis. It is the second time the exchange has taken place in Darlington, with students staying at the Arts Centre.
Chris Papin, one of the teachers at Schulzentrum Lerchenstrasse, in Bremen, who has accompanied the children and organised the trip, said: "It was very nice for the students to meet the mayor, he showed us around his parlour and the council building and answered the students' questions."
