A WORKMAN who gave up his career to become a student in painting and decorating said it had turned his life around.
Balin Wheetman, of Hartlepool, decided to give up his job as an accounts consultant at the age of 29 after he sought advice from Hartlepool Borough Council's Working Solution team.
He completed an NVQ level 3 in Painting and Decorating and won the Painter and Decorator Student of the Year award at Hartlepool College of Further Education.
Now, after recently marrying his girlfriend in Corfu, he is continuing his education and beginning a degree in Interior Architecture at the University of Teesside.
