JUDGES at the Sedgefield and District Rose Society annual show praised the high level of entries.
The event, held in the Golden Lion Inn, Sedgefield, at the weekend, was judged by Tom Johnson, of Ferryhill, and Adam Prest, of Sedgefield.
Former Sedgefield town council gardener Les Parrish won the Harkness Cup for having the best exhibit in the three roses in a vase or box section.
Mathew Waite retained the Albert Blakey salver for most points in rose classes, and Jack Storey retained the Frank Pratt Trophy for most points in Dahlia classes. In the floral art section, Maxine Robinson won the Eyles Bowl for best exhibit and the W W Turnbull Cup for most points in the section. Naomi Challans retained the Dave Franks trophy in the junior ranks.
