ALMOST £1,000 is on its way to causes supported by Richmond's mayor after two events in the town recently.
Councillor Stuart Parsons has sent his sincere thanks to all who helped or attended a coffee morning which he hosted in the town hall at the weekend.
The event, which included a tombola and raffle, raised £382.58.
The Mayor's Musical Extravaganza at the Zetland Christian Community Centre earlier this month also raised £575, with special thanks going to the Alan Owens Band and Singers.
Coun Parsons is also planning a Big Band Night at the Richmondshire Cricket Club on Friday, October 10, at 7.30pm.
Cash raised during the evening - run in partnership with former members of the Normandy Band - will help cover the cost of facilities for people with special needs at the Marrick Priory Outdoor Centre, which is used extensively every year by children from local schools.
Tickets cost £10 and are available by calling (01748) 823456.
