A NEW season of films starts this month at Darlington Arts Centre.

HARVEST FEAST: Woodland Methodist Church is holding its harvest festival service on Sunday, at 6pm. A slide show will be held at the church on Tuesday, at 7pm, followed by a sale of produce.
MINI-MARKET: Shildon Salvation Army is holding a mini-market at its Community and Worship Centre in Cross Street, Shildon on Tuesday, from 10am to 11.30am.
SPECIAL MEETING: A special meeting of Wear Valley District Council will be held on Tuesday, at 4.30pm, in the council chamber, Civic Centre, Crook.
VOLUNTEERS WANTED: The organisers of the annual Sedgefield Medieval Fair, held on the third Saturday in May, are on the lookout for more people to assist in its planning and running of the event. The first meeting to prepare for next year's fair will be held on Wednesday, October 1, at 8pm, in Ceddesfeld Hall. New faces are welcome.
RESIDENTS MEETING: The next meeting of Chilton West Residents' Association will be held on Tuesday, in Chilton and Windlestone WMC, from 7.15pm.
BIKE THEFTS: Two Ducati motorcycles were stolen from a garage in Leafield Road, Darlington, on Wednesday. The following bicycles were also taken: a blue and white bicycle from outside a newsagent's in Yarm Road; a Polo BMX bike from a garden in Aldbrough Walk; a men's black and white Magna BMX Flyzone from Eastbourne and a silver and a black men's Raleigh Highbrid from Woodland Terrace. QUAD WARNING: Police in Crook have sent out a security warning to owners of quad bikes and other outdoor equipment following a series of thefts. A Honda Big Red was stolen from the Westgate area between 2pm and 3pm on Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to call PC Shaun McCarroll on (01388) 762011.
