In the Morrison Centre Wednesday evening open triples Dorothy Donald, John Mackey and John Beaston fought their way back to a 12-7 lead having lost six shots in the first three ends.
They picked up six shots to one near to the finish to return a 17-9 winning card.
In the same league Jean Strachen, Derek Welburn and Barry Cooper had the edge throughout their game including a purple patch from the fourth to the tenth end. This run served them well and they beat C Watson, V Watson and skip Stuart Clarke 13-5.
In the Wednesday Evening ladies fours Doris Collinson, Vicky Knight, Audrey Shepherd and skip Marjorie Bousfield in a topsy turvy game collected four shots with only one end to go to give them a 13-12 victory against Susan Freary, Kath Calvert, Margaret Marshall and Christine Pearson.
Olive Harris, Barbara Watson, Olwyn Kitching and skip Ann Simpson scored 11 shots without reply between the sixth and the 11th ends to beat Brenda Foster, Vera Wilson, Charlotte Carter and June Gibbs 16-9.
In the Thursday men's triples Brian Golding, Alistair Ogg and Frank Davis came good when it mattered most. Remarkably they scored 12-2 shots over the last five ends to beat James Kidd, Peter Robinson and Norman Alexander 16-12 having trailed for most of the game.
The result between Eddie Braben, Bill Eilliott and skip Richard Brown against Keith Earl, Harold Bromfield and George Bromfield never seemed in doubt for Richard after leading 7-1, 11-2 and finally 18-6.
Other scores and skips were: A Stephenson 11, G Gent 9; H Wilsden 20, H Johnson 13; G Lamb 12, V Anderson 7; J Robinson 15, M Curren 9; D Fudge 17, I Riley 12.
Another high profile and very competitive ladies league which includes up to 14 teams on Monday afternoon is again going to take some winning.
This week Joan Hamer, Audrey Shepherd and skip Ann Anderson after an early 8-3 lead lost some ground to Maisie Robinson, Oliver Harris and Ann Simpson who edged in front for the tenth by 10-9. In an entertaining finish Ann Anderson clinched three singles to win 13-10 collecting two valuable points.
Kitty Robinson, Mary Armstrong and skip Maureen Whitton after narrowly losing three singles at the start turned on the style consistently building good heads while scoring 24 shots to one against Ann Milner and the very experienced Edith Dunn and skip Doris Rewcastle.
Irene Hobson, Jennie Herries and skip Joyce Weston started well at 10-1 and tailed off at 11-8 then came good to finish 19-8 including a good four and a three against a determined Jean Peacock, Nora Burchell and skip Vi Johnson.
An outstanding performance from Ethel White, Audrey Cairns and skip Sadie Lynch, who started with a five and finished with a five, saw them beat a good triples which included Sylvia Richardson, Pauline Baines and skip Margaret White to finish in front 25-4.
Ken Bousfield and Harold Robinson just had the edge over Malcolm Brown and Alan Brown in the Thursday 4.30pm men's pairs league. They had a narrow lead of 8-6 in the first half of their game. Things changed in the second half when Ken and Harold impressively scored on every end collecting ten shots without reply to win 18-6.

This evening 6.30pm men's fours league takes some winning each session with many quality teams determined to finish top of the table.
This week Alan Lambert, David Joyce, Martin Lynch and skip John Lynch settled quickly going into top gear and a 12-1 lead after seven ends. Harry Axford, Alan Walton, Stan Blewitt and skip Barry Cooper won five of the next six ends collecting seven shots without loss. John Lynch got the best out of his team when it counted most and finished 16-9 to the good following on from the 27-7 victory last week against the Richard Brown four.
