PUPILS from Haughton Community College, in Darlington, enjoyed continental celebrations to mark the European Day of Languages yesterday.
Students sampled French delicacies while Haughton's radio station, Radio Rockwell, filled the halls with continental music.
Performing arts students tried dances from continental European countries.
The head of modern languages at the school, Jo Gibson, said: "It has been fantastic. The aim was to raise the profile of languages in the community and there was a lot of interest.
"We are trying to make languages more accessible and show that it can be lots of fun communicating with people in other countries."
