Sedgefield and District Rose Society's annual show attracted a high quality of exhibits in the Golden Lion Inn.

Former Sedgefield Town Council gardener Les Parrish won the Harkness Cup for best exhibit in the three roses in vase or box.

Mathew Waite retained the Albert Blakey Salver for Most Points in the rose classes, while Jack Storey retained the Frank Pratt Trophy for most points in dahlia classes.

In the floral art section, Maxine Robinson won the Eyles Bowl for best exhibit and the WW Turnbull Cup for most points in section. Naomi Challans retained the Dave Franks Cup in the junior ranks.
