YOUNG Nerhys Clayphan heard Jason Shipman, of the Anmod Dracan Medieval Re-enactment Society, tells her a story at Margrove Heritage Centre yesterday.
The five-year-old was among visitors who took the chance to find out more about the medieval age.
As the last day of the centre's 2003 season, families were able to watch a re-enactment of the setting up of a medieval camp.
Soldiers also demonstrated their skill at arms and the intricacies of their armour, while the women in the camp demonstrated ancient cooking and sewing skills.
Those who visited the centre, near Guisborough, were also given a last chance to see an exhibition in which they could find out what life was like in a medieval castle.
