A SCHOOL football team is hoping for more success this season now that the players have a new strip.
The year seven football team at Ferryhill Enterprise and Business College won the Bishop Auckland Schools District League last year.
As a result the team caught the eye of staff at Tenlands Care Homes, who decided to sponsor a new kit, replacing the old kit, which had become quite worn.
The sponsorship deal is part of a national strategy by the company, which wants to become more involved in local communities.
The new strip has already attracted attention, with opposition managers commenting on the smart turn-out.
The team, now in year eight, have continued their success on the field, winning their first games 6-0 and 6-3.
The school is also celebrating the opening if its new sports hall, built at a cost of £935,000 by Durham County Council to replace the previous facilities which were so dilapidated they had to be closed.
