TRUSTEES at the Baltic have given themselves more time to find a replacement for outgoing director Sune Nordgren.
The deadline for applications, originally September 19, was extended until tomorrow.
Mr Nordgren, who has been at the Baltic for six years, leaves in December to work as director of the National Museum for Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo, Norway.
Bosses say they are looking for a new director to provide "strategic leadership, management and artistic vision".
The Baltic last month welcomed its millionth visitor.
A spokesman said: "Interviews are taking place in early November and, by the end of that month, we will be able to tell people what we are doing."
