DGSOB 7, Fox and Hounds 1: Goalkeeper Steve Chandler celebrated his 50th birthday with a relatively quiet afternoon as Jekyl and Hyde team OB thrashed an out of sorts Fox and Hounds for whom Andrew Sams' second half strike was a mere consolation.
Old Boys, who made six changes from the previous week, scored at regular intervals through man of the match Peter Gray (2), Mark Sowerby (2), John Hanratty, David Challies and sub Matty Freitag.
East End WMC 1, Grey Horse 3.
The Clubmen took the lead when a Darren Winter effort was deflected in, but Michael Bland levelled before the interval. Peter Gormley put Horse ahead when he curled home a 25-yard free kick and Ian Caygill secured the points with their third. David Palmer was once again Horse's man of the match.
Greyhound 2, Barnard Castle 0.
Barney with keeper Daniel Pritchard outstanding defended well against the league leaders and it was not until the 40th minute that Paul Robson put the home side ahead when he headed home Chris Busby's cross. The second came after 55 minutes when brother Peter converted Paul's cross to maintain Greyhound's 100 per cent start to the season.
Hole in the Wall 5, Heighington 4.
There was no sign of the game developing into a nine-goal thriller as Wall cruised into a 3-0 lead in the first 20 minutes with excellent finishes by Gary Wilson, Robbie Dodsworth and Jimmy Gallagher. Heighington pulled one back when Andrew Hodbson headed home from a corner but Dae Wilson restored the advantage with a shot from distance. Hobson pulled a goal back when he ran through from half way to score. Andy Etherington then reduced the deficit to one when he forced hom from close range after a succession of corner and Hobson completed his hat-trick to level matters with the best goal of the game via a 30-yard firee kick with seven minutes remaining. Heighington now pressed for a winner but Wall regrouped and it was Dave Wilson who finished off a fine passing movement to finish and break Heighington hearts in the process.
Newton Aycliffe 3, Killinghall Arms 2.
What should have been the match of the day was marred when Killie rather stupidly had a man dismissed for foul and abusive language. Aycliffe took the points with goals from Craig Barrigan, David Brassell and an own goal. David Barkley and sub Chris Peacock replied. Tony Stafford and Neil Mathias were the respective men of the match.
