Visitors to one of the county's stately homes have a chance to examine the skill and craftsmanship behind antique and modern quilts.
An exhibition, called Tales from the Sewing Room, featuring professional and amateur makers, is being staged at Nunnington Hall, near Helmsley, until November 2.
Helen Young, who has put together the display, said each quilt in the show had a unique tale to tell.
"Each has their own story - something that gives a very human element to the collection and a fascinating insight into people's lives," she said.
"At the same time, the show helps reflect not only a culture's basic need to sew for purely practical purposes, it also expresses the need to be creative, making an everyday practical object into something of real beauty."
Highlights from the show include The £1,000 Quilt, a Coronation quilt from 1937, and a Millennium quilt.
The exhibition also features an installation work - entitled How Do I Feel Today? - by Sheffield quilt artist Helen Parrott.
In addition to the exhibition, a tour of the hall will be held tomorrow at 10am, looking at the many tapestries, bed coverings and textiles on show within the National Trust property.
Tickets are £6 and must be booked in advance.
