A TEAM chase is being held at Foxberry Chasers, near Richmond, next weekend to raise funds for the Zetland Hunt.
The competition, on Sunday, October 12, will be an annual event and the organisers hope to make it a national qualifier next year.
The novice class is a fun event for all over the age of 13 and will be run under optimum time rules at a normal hunter trial pace, while the open class is a real speed event.
There are usually four horses in each team, who go round the course together, but the organisers are allowing teams of two, three or four for this event.
The first three horses past the post count towards the team score, as long as none have been eliminated by missing out a jump or taking the wrong course.
In the interests of fairness, a pre-determined time will be added to the time recorded by each team of two.
The event can be used as a warm-up for hunting and the inaugural spring event was very well supported, but the organisers would like enough entries this time to be able to offer some good prize money.
Spectators are very welcome and the course offers a good view of the coffin and water complex.
Anyone wishing to enter can send a sae to Foxberry Chasers, Caldwell, Richmond DL11 7QL or call Sara on 01325 718792 for more details.
The course is available for schooling before and after the competition and riders are welcome to walk the course before deciding which class to enter.
The course has been professionally built by Watt fences and is BHS and BE approved.
