It was third time lucky for Low Fell Jolly Miller when they avenged two recent defeats against Felling Mulberry to claim maximum points in the league.
It was an end to end thriller that saw the lead switch on several occasions with the Fell finding a striking hero in Andrew Stephenson who notched an excellent hat-trick and Scott Dodds bagged the other. Keith Vincent on his debut scored twice for thee Mulberry and their other goal was netted by Gary Harkness.
Grange Villa WMC and Pelton Fell WMC played out an excellent 1-1 draw. Both goals came from the penalty spot with David Hardy for the Villa and Daniel Bankhead on target for the Fell.
South Moor Sports kept up their good start to the season with an impressive 4-1 home win over Gateshead Black Bull. Michael Gray (penalty), Alan Mills and two-goal David Craig were on the mark for South Moor with Craig Gardner replying for the Black Bull - the win moving South Moor into third.
In the Durham County Sunday Cup, Stanley Royal enjoyed an excellent 3-0 win at Washington Arms with Mark Patterson scoring twice along with Mark Drake.
Pelton Crown Inn were at home to Stockton Malleable Athletic and lost on the golden goal in extra time.
Earlier the Crown had equalised from the spot with just a couple of minutes to go, but could not capitalise on their good play and lost by the odd goal in three.
