YOUNGSTERS are joining a competition to design a poster for a clean-up campaign.
Middlesbrough Council is organising the scheme to improve communities.
Councillor Bob Kerr, who sits on the executive, said: "We're planning a major co-ordinated effort to make Middlesbrough a cleaner, tidier place.
"That means the council working harder and more effectively, but also all resident and visitors in the town thinking about what they can do to reduce litter.''
Youngsters, aged 11 to 19, living or studying in Middlesbrough can design a logo and a slogan for the campaign.
Coun Kerr said: "The competition is the first step in getting people involved in making the town a better place."
