BOSSES at the Yorkshire Air Museum are still waiting anxiously to find out if they have been successful in their bid to land Concorde.
The museum, at Elvington, near York, was one of only 12 sites across the world shortlisted a few months ago as a possible home for one of Britain's seven redundant supersonic aircraft.
British Airways (BA) has yet to make a final decision about the aircraft and has given no clear indication as to when the final announcement will be made.
However, museum bosses are keeping their fingers crossed as the arrival of Concorde would be a huge boost for the attraction and for tourism in the area.
Museum director Ian Reed said he is still confident that the museum's bid would succeed, although there could be no certainty.
He said the Yorkshire Air Museum is the only one of the 12 locations able to immediately meet all the criteria set by BA.
Mr Reed expects BA to make the announcement towards the end of the month - about the same time that Concorde is removed from service.
