CONSTRUCTION firm bosses volunteered to be pelted with sponges at the company's open day.
The Esh Group of Companies celebrated the opening of the firm's headquarters, at Bowburn, by showing workers' families round the site.
As well as a guided tour, entertainment included an inflatable slide, face painting, a magician, and food and drink was available.
Almost 400 people attended and the most popular event was the stocks, which raised more than £500 for Cancer Research UK.
Company directors were soaked with wet sponges thrown by employees and their families,
Brian Manning, Esh Group managing director, said: "Our open day was a great opportunity for staff and their families to get together and have a fun day at our new headquarters.
"The children, in particular, really enjoyed themselves, especially when it came to soaking the directors in the stocks.
"The planning of the whole day was flawless, and the money raised for Cancer Research UK made the event even more worthwhile."
