A CAMPAIGN launched today will inform people about the vision for Cleveland Police under new Chief Constable Sean Price.
Newspaper and radio adverts and posters on buses will promote the theme "putting people first".
Cleveland Police Authority chairman, Councillor Ken Walker, said: "I am so pleased that in the campaign, we will be able to hear from members of the public who have been victims of crime and have received an excellent service from the force.
"Our aim is to ensure that every resident within the Cleveland force area receives a top class service.
"The campaign is also an opportunity to, perhaps, challenge some commonly held perceptions by pointing out that there is good news about how we are tackling crime.
"We are having success in key areas, such as house burglary and car crime, and we are making life increasingly difficult for those in the evil drugs trade."
Mr Price's vision is based on the cornerstones of people, problem-solving, partnerships and professionalism.
Coun Walker said: "This campaign must be seen as the start of the commitment to put people first and that it is backed by other initiatives proposed by the Chief Constable, to ensure we work with all sections of the local community and that they have a genuine opportunity to have their views, concerns and suggestions taken into account."
Mr Price said his vision would help identify the force's strengths and measures needed to improve it.
