Two cars were destroyed by a fire in a garage in North Ormesby, Middlesbrough, on Saturday.
Fire crews were called just after 7pm to South Bank Road. They used breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to put out the flames. The garage was damaged by heat and smoke.
FORKLIFT WRECKED: A forklift truck was destroyed in a fire in Hartlepool. The blaze happened in Windermere Road, Belle Vue, on Saturday night. Firefighters used breathing equipment and two jets to tackle the flames.
HOT DRYER: A fire that broke out in a Billingham flat on Saturday is thought to have been caused by a hairdryer. It happened at Prior Court, Low Grange, at 10.45pm. Three fire engines arrived to deal with the incident. The flat was damaged by heat and smoke. No one was injured.
GAS ALERT: A gas pipe was ruptured in a fire at an unoccupied house in Middlesbrough on Saturday evening. Firefighters isolated the leaking pipe and made it safe while tackling the blaze in Fairfield Road. The front door and guttering was damaged.
PHOTO EXHIBITION: More than 100 people attended a Musha'ra evening of Urdu poetry and Punjabi drumming at Middlesbrough town hall in August. Photography lecturer Harold Fricker took photographs, which will be on display at the Dorman Museum, Middlesbrough, from tomorrow.

HEALTH CLASSES: A seven-week healthy lifestyles course begins at the Redcar Education Development Centre, Corporation Road, Redcar, on October 21, from 6.30pm to 8pm. Taster sessions will include aerobics, reflexology, massage and disco dancing.
