A THEATRE will welcome back a familiar face this Christmas when a former staff member joins the cast of its pantomime.
Steve Luck, who was publicity officer for Darlington Civic Theatre in the late 1980s and early 1990s, will play Dame Gertie Gemmel in Goldilocks and the Three Bears, alongside former Emmerdale star Lisa Riley.
During his time as publicity officer, Mr Luck, who was born and brought up in Darlington, was involved with a gala concert after the refurbishment of the theatre, which saw Dame Vera Lynn and the Band of the Grenadier Guards take to the stage.
He has been back to the theatre on several occasions since he left as company manager for Qdos Pantomimes.
Speaking about his pantomime role, Mr Luck, said: "Gertie will be very mumsie and silly. I love playing the villain, but it is great to be able to make people laugh."
The panto runs from December 4 to January 18. For tickets, contact the booking office on (01325) 486555.
