A FATHER and son were among six football fans who appeared in court today charged with racial chanting at a match.
Stanley Watson, 46, and Jonathan Watson, 19, both from Callander Road, Hartlepool were among those who appeared at Hartlepool Magistrates Court following a series of dawn raids in the town on Saturday.
Also appearing in court were; Stephen Booth, 30, from Young Street, Hartlepool, Paul Gale, 29, from Flint Walk, Hartlepool, Paul Hind, 38, from Stotfold Street, Hartlepool and Michael Hutchinson, 37, from Newquay Close, Hartlepool.
All six cases were adjourned until Tuesday October 28, and each of the men were granted unconditional bail.
The charges relate to Hartlepool United's 0-0 draw in a Second Division league game against Oldham Athletic at Pool's Victoria Park ground on September 6.
