PUPILS from Hurworth House School, near Darlington, enjoyed a trip on a canal boat as part of their annual school trip.
Thirty one boys, aged eight to 12, visited Moira Furnace in Leicestershire, where they travelled on a renovated canal boat, visited a coal mine and tried making their own soap.
They then went to London, where they visited the London Eye and spent the night sleeping on the mess deck of HMS Belfast.
The following day, the boys visited a nuclear bunker at Kelvendon Hatch, Essex, before returning to Hurworth House.
"It was a great couple of days and all the boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves," said teacher Pamela Marshall.
