A CARE home for elderly people in a Harrogate suburb, which closed two years ago, is now expected to help another section of the community.
The home, in High Street, Starbeck, was run for many years by a trust set up by the congregation of nearby St Andrew's Church.
Now the trust wants to hand over the building to social landlord the Harrogate Families Housing Association for conversion into four flats.
A spokesman said the flats would be let to tenants aged 50 and over who must have a strong connection with Starbeck.
Two of the units would have access for wheelchairs.
Harrogate borough councillors are not expected to raise any opposition to the plan when they consider it today.
