VILLAGERS turned out to support a sponsored knitting event which has been taking place for 20 years.
Every year in Trimdon Village, residents spend two hours knitting in aid of The Children's Society.
This year's event was held in Tremeduna Grange and attracted about a dozen knitters. Others knitted at home.
Those who took part included Mary Seymour, 90, who participated in the first event in 1983.
Each of the participants knitted a small strip, which will be sent to The Children's Society and joined together to make knee rugs.
Organiser Margaret Robinson, secretary of the local branch of The Children's Society, said the money was still being counted, but she estimated that the final sum raised would be more than £300
