RESIDENTS in Stockton yesterday had a chance to see how a redevelopment project was progressing.
The South Stockton Link Site Two open day allowed people to discover first-hand the construction activities being carried out in the project.
The scheme includes rail tunnels, a 35m single span bridge and the widening of Bowesfield Lane, which is now near completion.
The open day, at Castlegate Quay Watersports Centre, in Riverside Road, included an exhibition, interactive displays and demonstrations of the latest technology in the construction industry, including an earth moving plant.
The South Stockton Link will connect Ingleby Barwick with Stockton, and is being developed by Stockton Borough Council in connection with Birse Civils.
Joanne Inglis, of Birse Civils, said: "This was an informative day which allowed people the opportunity to see and learn first-hand about the construction activities being undertaken.
"We are continuing our commitment to community engagement and this open day was an invaluable opportunity for anyone who is interested in their local area."
