Writing Awards:

In The Northern Echo on Friday, we reported that eight young writers from the region had been shortlisted for the Department for Education's writing awards, Write Here, Write Now, and we listed, incorrectly, the names of four students who had been nominated for the Journalism Award.

Those who actually won the awards were: Chloe Robinson, Laura Hopper, Andrew McKay and Luke Elliff, from St Cuthbert's RC Primary School, Crook. The names were supplied by a spokesman for the Write Here, Write Now awards and were published in good faith.
