DETECTIVES have issued a fresh appeal for help to find a man a year after he disappeared.
Robert Scott Clive, known to his friends and family as Scotty, was last seen on October 10, last year.
Since then, there has been no contact from Mr Clive and no sightings or trace of him.
Media appeals have drawn a blank and last year the case was classed as a murder inquiry, despite the fact that a body has not been found.
Mr Clive moved from Scotland to the North Shields area in January 2002 and initially lived with his cousin before moving to a bedsit in the town's Prudhoe Terrace.
Until October 10, last year, he was in contact with his family in Scotland every week.
The night he disappeared, police believe he was in the Customs House, in Borough Road, with several other people.
The last sighting was on closed-circuit television just before 11pm, which showed him walking along Railway Terrace with a man, who has already been identified.
Mr Clive, who has a snake tattoo on one arm and walks with a slight limp, was a recognisable man and police believe someone must have some knowledge of what has happened to him.
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Dawson, who is leading the inquiry, said: "Although there are still a number of lines of inquiry to be followed, we know there are people out there who know what happened to Mr Clive.
"Understandably, Mr Clive's family are desperate for news, even if it is bad. They need to know what has happened to their son."
Anyone with information is asked to contact North Shields CID on 0191-214 6555, extension 63144.
