A prize draw holiday of a lifetime is going unclaimed.

All winners of a grand draw for Teesside Hospice have been notified - but for the second prize winner.

The Middlesbrough based hospice has established that the telephone number written on the back of the second placed ticket does not exist.

The fact that whoever bought ticket number 230962 cannot be found, means a one week holiday for two in California has been unclaimed.

Saltburn resident Mr Peter Doyle picked up the first prize - a two week Caribbean cruise for two - at the hospice, last night.

The grand draw has raised more than £20,000 for the hospice which needs £2,600 each day to provide its specialist palliative care.

Fund raising manager Jan Marron said: "Our annual draw is one of our most successful ways of raising much needed hospice funds. This year as well as giving people the chance to support their local hospice, we were able to offer them the chance to win a dream holiday.''
