THE group behind a controversial housing development has been asked to look at its plans again.
Cleveland Housing Aid Trust has been asked to amend its application to build 22 two-storey flats at Wheatlands Farm Cottages, Redcar.
The council's planning committee deferred the application to allow the trust to make changes to its original plan after the scheme attracted opposition.
Trust general manager Harold Eddy said: "We will consider making the changes and I cannot see any difficulty, although I need to speak to my architect first.
"We would like to make it clear that the flats will be for sale and not for rent."
The planning committee chairman, Councillor Peter Spencer, said: "We would like the building to be more in keeping with the surrounding area, but it is not up to us to say what we would like them to do. We can only give the developer advice based on the feeling of the committee."
