FATHER-of-six Lee Newbould was in court yesterday to admit two offences of driving without insurance.
Harrogate magistrates heard how Newbould, 34, of Kirkham Grove, Harrogate, already had 12 penalty points on his licence, when he was stopped in the town, on August 5. Two weeks later Newbould, was spotted again.
Newbould, who was spared a driving ban after the first two offences by pleading he would suffer exceptional hardship, was told he could not use the same excuse again.
He told the court, he had driven to visit to his mother-in-law who had been widowed and was now seeking to become her registered carer.
Presiding magistrate Bernadette Reid told Newbould he had a bad driving record and needed help. She put him on probation for six months and banned him from driving for nine months. He must pay £90 costs.
