Darlington'S commercial property market received another boost when the security at a business complex was ranked among the top in the UK.

Security and reception service at the Lingfield Point business park is second to none, according to the national survey.

The team at Lingfield Point received one of the highest marks ever awarded for a UK business complex.

Kingsley Lipsey Morgan, an international real estate research company, recently carried out an independent perception study on behalf of Lingfield Point.

The company interviewed a cross-section of occupiers, on-site staff, leasing and managing agents, property advisors, local development agencies and local businesses to gain an insight into their views about various parts of the business park.

Perceptions of the estate, of Darlington as a business location and value for money will all be discussed with the participants.

The findings of the report were positive towards Lingfield Point and the tenants were complimentary about Lingfield House concierge, Ted Machin and head of security Gerry Simpson, with his team of in-house security staff.

Lingfield Point has 24-hour security using closed-circuit television cameras, gatehouse that is staffed round the clock and security patrols.

Eddie Humphries, Lingfield Point estate manager, said: "This study reinforces our belief that Lingfield Point is an excellent place for new and existing companies to locate.

"Everyone can be very proud of themselves at the outcome, in particular Ted, Gerry and the security team, who were singled out for special praise.

"Security and reception is a vitally important service to our diverse range of tenants and we are delighted that the hard work and long hours that the team put in is recognised and appreciated."
