A NEW partnership is preparing to provide a health care roadshow in the Sedgefield borough.

The Your Health Roadshow will offer health information and advice, primarily for people over 50.

The roadshow offers the opportunity to have a flu jab, free health check, and free diabetes check.

There will also be access to information on healthy cooking, medicine management, foot health, energy advice, home security, fire safety and gentle exercise.

Free complementary therapies will be available and there will also be the chance to win a solar powered radio.

The events will be held in Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre this Friday; Ferryhill Leisure Centre on Friday, November 7, and Shildon Methodist Church Hall on Tuesday, November 11. The roadshows run from 10am until 2.30pm.

Jane Hartley, chief executive for the Pioneering Care Partnership, said: "This roadshow offers the older people of Sedgefield borough the chance to protect themselves from the flu virus during the winter months whilst enjoying the many activities."

Partners involved include Sedgefield Primary Care Trust, Sedgefield Borough Council, The Pioneering Care Partnership, Age Concern Durham police and social services. For details call (01325) 321234.
