POLICE in Spennymoor are appealing for information following an alleged hit and run incident near the town's Co-op store.
They are trying to trace a small red car, thought to be a Ford Fiesta, driven by a man with a woman in the front passenger seat.
At about 5.30pm last Friday the car turned off Oxford Street, behind the Co-op, and hit a red Vauxhall Corsa. It then drove through No Entry signs in King Street opposite Spennymoor Workmen's Club.
PC Jamie Rielly said: "I believe that the small red car involved may have been damaged on the front wing area on the driver's side."
Anyone with information can contact PC Rielly on (01388) 814411.
