A Darlington school has nominated ten pupils for an award.
The children from Beaumont Hill Special School have been nominated for the Celebration of Learning Awards.
Among those nominated are 14-year-old Alan Wood, 15-year-old Isobel Webster, 15-year-old Andrew Watson and 17-year-old Emma Watson.
The four, who have all been nominated for the Special Achiever Award, met Darlington MP Alan Milburn when he visited the school.
"It is inspiring to meet and read about these achieving young people," said Mr Milburn. Headteacher Dame Dela Smith said: "These awards are a chance for the pupils' achievements to be recognised outside of school and by the wider community."
The awards, funded by the Learning and Skills Council Tees Valley and Connexions Tees Valley, will be held on November 28 at the Tall Trees in Yarm.
The closing date for nominations for the 13-19 age group is Friday.
